“Going to France on exchange was a lot of fun. My exchange partner and I had a lot in common, so it was easy to get along. His family was a lot like my family at home, so I felt comfortable being away for 2 months. I know we will be lifelong friends, he is even coming back to visit this summer! While I was away, I got to visit Spain, go skiing in the Alps and surf in the ocean. It was definitely a positive experience.”

Spending nine weeks on an exchange in Spain was an unforgettable experience that pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow. I improved my Spanish, met people from different backgrounds and got to experience daily life in a completely new culture. From trying new foods to exploring cities and traditions, everyday felt like a learning opportunity. Overall, it was a rewarding experience that gave me more independence and a broader perspective on the world.

“I participated in a Host First exchange from August-November 2022 and travelled to Vitré, France, from February to April 2023.
I would definitely recommend an exchange to other students. My exchange gave me so many amazing memories I never thought I would get. I got to travel around Bretagne, France and see some really cool places like Saint-Malo and Mont Saint-Michel. Being in France and surrounded by only French-speaking people really enhanced my ability to speak and express myself in French.
I believe if anyone wants to expand their knowledge of French and explore the European culture, they should do an exchange. It pulls you out of your comfort zone and is totally worth it.”

“I would most definitely recommend an exchange. I found the timing great and less commitment to the regular school year exchange. I was able to have an amazing summer without missing out on school back home or things like school sports that are important to me. The program was great at matching me with someone that I was so similar to and created a great relationship with.
