ISE Ontario
Class / School Group Program Description and Timeline: A Class / School Group Exchange is a short program of two to
three weeks involving a class or school group and one or more
teachers.
This program
is:
-
A
school based reciprocal exchange
-
Available
to secondary students
-
Open
to elementary students, usually in grades 7 & 8
Participating
students will:
-
Live
with their exchange partner and host family
-
Attend
school for some days each week
-
Take
part in cultural visits and activities
-
Practice
and improve their language skills
-
Experience
another way of life
-
Gain
a broader view of the world
ISE
Ontario provides:
Matching with a partner school in Quebec, Belgium, Costa Rica,
France, Germany, Italy, Spain or Switzerland.

A Group Exchange Guidebook to
assist teachers and parents
-
International travel and insurance arrangements
-
Guidance and support for the teacher from initial planning
through the visiting and hosting periods
Matching of schools is based on:
- Size of group
- Age of students
- Desired timeline (Ontario
students often go abroad around the March break and might
host later in the spring or the previous fall

Class / School Group Program Costs
- Destination
- Connecting internal flights
- Option
of an excursion package, such as Paris
Student costs include
- International travel
- Cancellation and
supplementary medical insurance
- Administration
fee
The organizers may require an additional amount to cover group
travel to and from the international airport, supply teacher
costs and a hosting fee to cover activities planned for the
